Come as a tent leader or help in the kitchen

To provide campers with an excellent holiday, we need great workers! Come and use your skills and gifts to help us create a fantastic camping experience.

Requirements

You have to be a committed Christian and 17 or over, but there is no upper age limit and we encourage people with a variety of experiences to get involved.

Roles

If you are 18 or older then you can be a tent leader working directly with the young people on Warriors. If you are over 20 then you can be a Teen camp tent leader.

If you are aged 17 or above then you can come to Warrior Camp and help with the catering as part of our experienced team.

There are a number of roles that require specific qualifications that enable camps to operate safely. These roles are normally carried out by our experienced team of leaders. At times we need to recruit people to carry out roles where we have not been able to cover these responsibilities through our usual methods.

We also need people to help put up and pack down the camps. Prep week and rear guard is hard work but great fun. If you could spare a few days to help put the sites together, please get in touch with the office.

Special skills needed

We are currently looking for qualified lifeguards, if that is you then please tell us!

Being a leader

Leaders can come for one, two or three weeks. It is also possible to spend a week helping on each camp.

Being a leader or kitchen worker is more than just a summer pastime, it is a real opportunity to serve God and to get involved with the lives of young people in a positive, spiritual and transforming way.

Being a leader or kitchen worker on either camp could count towards Duke of Edinburgh awards, university placements, leadership experience and more. It is also the most fun you can ever have when working in a field!

Training

Leaders are provided training at the adult volunteer ‘Leader Day’.  This takes place at the start of each week of camp, on Saturday, when campers haven’t arrived (campers arrive Sunday).  The Leader Day is vital to help our adult volunteers acclimatise to camp without responsibility and it provides the perfect setting for our training, regardless of the role you may be doing.

We also host a Leader Weekend in Jan / February, a time to meet up with other volunteers for teaching, fellowship, fun and prayer, as well as being able to feedback about your experiences of camp.  Our next Leader Weekend is in early 2026.  If you are thinking about camp for next year then we encourage you to watch the website for details.
